Lubbock Radar Alias Images of Columbia Disaster

Note the linear feature southeast of the radar four counties south CDS (barely visible in the first two images). This appears to be a range aliased return from the shuttle debris cloud located in eastern Texas.

This feature has the same bearing as that shown from Amarillo, but is located farther south. Thus the apparent location of both is not as shown on radar, but rather an artifact of range folding.
